Initiative 1433, approved by Washington voters in 2016, requires a statewide minimum wage of $11.00 in 2017, $11.50 in 2018, $12.00 in 2019, and $13.50 in 2020. Beginning 2021, and each year thereafter, L&I is required to make a cost-of-living adjustment to the minimum wage based on the CPI-W.
Due to Washington State initiative 1433 we will need to increase our parking rates beginning January 1st 2020. Initiative 1433 took effect January 1st, 2016. We have not had a rate increase in over 5 years and have kept the same parking rate despite three prior increases to the minimum wage. Unfortunately it is no longer possible to maintain the old rates due to the most recent $1.50 per hour increase. The new parking rates are effective January 1st, 2020.
